ESD / Anti-static
The leading consumers of ESD (electrostatic discharge) chairs are the military, the electronics, explosives and telecommunications industries and workshops. ESD ergonomic chairs are used to protect equipment that is more sensitive to electricity. With an ESD chair, the chair itself becomes the most probable trajectory for the discharge, and static electricity is transferred to the ground. And though static charge may not seem very dangerous, it can damage the circuits in the components of your computers, telephones, measuring instruments and other types of equipment. Unless you protect your components with an ESD device, most of the delicate circuits they contain will be burnt by the electrostatic discharge.
