In the medical and pharmaceutical sectors and in laboratories in general, workers are exposed to a number of hazards. Working with chemical and biological products is one, but there is also the hazard of musculoskeletal disorders. Performing repetitive tasks and handling heavy loads have the potential to trigger a range of illnesses. The challenge is to make productivity, health and safety in these sectors compatible. To do this, and ultimately to reduce the level of hazard, we analyze the tasks and then work out the possibilities according to the resources available.
